inside and we quickly went aground. I threw on a little power, no good. Poured the coals to it and broke free. Said to hell with it and anchored up in mid channel. Joan and I then spent the rest of the night alternating at anchor watch. Hiedi, with a 22 lb Danforth, held for the night (they also had out a 40# CQR, but it had no tension on it).

Thursday AM April 23. Wind is down to about 20 now and is expected to continue to diminish through the next two days. Our plans are to head for North Cat Cay at the first opportunity, spend a day there and as soon as possible move on toward the Berry Islands.


Note: In the early days of our cruising, the idea of a newsletter had not yet gelled. These notes were sent to just a few people and weren't very descriptive. This was our first venture beyond the ICW.
