The Adventures of Francesca
Part 13
Cartagena to the Rosarios
Hello to all our family, friends and fellow MTOA members,
You may remember from the last Adventures newsletter, the sailing vessel, Blue Moon, with Sid and Tove aboard was overdue. We were confident they were alright because the sea conditions weren't that bad, but we were supposed to have been on the same course line and should have overtaken them or at least been within VHF radio range. As it turned out, the wind had dropped too low for them to sail well and their engine had refused to start. They shifted from the planned course line and toward Cabo (cape) de Vela with the intention of anchoring if need be. Meanwhile, s/v Kelsey was motor sailing and with Francesca were making good progress. We apparently overtook Blue Moon well before expected and later, when we began calling them, they were out of VHF radio range.
